Netview Mail facility

Netview provides a mail facility which is internal to TME, i.e can only be used 
between Netview users. Can this tool be interfaced with standard mailing COTS, 
or can Netview integrate any standard mailing COTS ?
If anyone has already performed such study, I would appreciate to share their 
experience.
