Almost everything on the web client is derived from what is on the root map
on the AIX console. My guess is that if you look there, the collections
will have the old symbols. The trick is to get rid of those. Collmap does
not figure out what symbol to use -- he copies whatever is already built,
and then he updates only status. Unlike ipmap, he doe not expect the
symbol to change.
So try this. Close down your web clients. Go to the read-write map on the
AIX console. Click on the collections icon and expand it into the
collections you have defined. Then select one of those with the right
mouse button and do Edit -- Delete - Symbol. Click on OK. The collection
symbol will go away and come back almost immediately but now it will be
blue. Click on it to open it. I think the symbols will be rebuilt
correctly.
If not, call Support.

Subject: Web collection symbols
We have Netview 5 and CiscoWorks 4.0 We ran re-build GIF files option and
found that the submaps on the web picked up the new gifs created with the
installation of CiscoWorks, but the collections did not pick this up. Does
anyone know how to correct this? TIA
