NetView does not query DNS directly.  In fact it does not query DNS at all.

NetView uses gethostby name and gethostbyaddress operating system calls and
waits for the response.  Period.
It has no idea of how the name resolution is done.  It is up to you to
provide the most efficient underlying mechanism.

Hi all.

I have a question, about NetView V5 for UNIX.

Is it possible that
NetView's daemons(perhaps netmon) request DNS Zone Transfer(named-xfer)
for efficiency of resoloving IP addresses to names?

Or just act as general DNS client?
So many devices discovering may cause many DNS queries from NetView?
