Do you have a lot of IP addresses in your network without hostnames?
I think I remember hearing somewhere that netmon tries to resolve all these
addresses before it will do a demand poll.

If this is the case, try adding these IP addresses to your /etc/hosts file
and
give them some kind of bogus hostname and see if that helps.

I have NV V5 and have recently done DNS and community name work on my
NetView.  I've run reset_ci and completely re-booted the system.  NV
comes up fine but any demand poll hangs.  I'm sure I've seen this
before.....  I've run ovtopofix but that doesn't seem to have improved
matters.  I'd really rather not throw away the database if possible.
Anyone have any good ideas????
