What Paul says below about how to edit icons is correct, but my sources
tell me that NetView did not ship a bitmap editor. Rather, they say, we
provided a link to an AIX bitmap editor called "bitmap" which used to be in
/usr/bin/X11.
We stopped doing that when AIX made the installation of the editor
optional, I am told. Perhaps someone else knows what you must install to
obtain the editor these days; I surely do not. In any case, I am told that
any reputable bitmap editor should work, but the process is tedious as Paul
said.

Subject: Re: Netview Icons
Azlan,
There is an icon editor included with NetView, or at least there was one in
past releases. You can alter or create icons to your heart's content. You
will have five picture files and five mask files for each icon that must be
edited. Each icon has five sizes in the standard NetView package. the .p
and
the .m files represent the picture and mask. The editor does a fair job of
explaining the need for the picture and the mask. It's fun to do, but
tedious
and very time consuming. Each icon is a matrix of dots. Plan ahead with
graph paper and make sure you have lots of time on your hands.
