I am trying to create a map with only the nodes that are wanted on it.
Our original seed file was not right, resulting in approximately 500
additional nodes being polled than required. The seed file was recently
changed so that these nodes would not be rediscovered, however, since
these nodes have already been found, they needed to be deleted. I have
deleted the default map and a snapshot that was made before some nodes
were deleted, and all entries within the Smart Sets (not the sets
themselves). This has resulted in there being only 60 fewer nodes,
leaving about 440 hiding somewhere. All nodes on the map were manually
placed by myself (no client machines have write access) and 'Automatic
Layout' was turned off.
There are no other maps (the custom map is now the default) and no
snapshots and the seed file is believed to exclude these extra nodes.
Also, I have turned off the 'Poll to Discover New Nodes...' option and
set 'Discover Nodes in Seed File only'. No new nodes have been
discovered, but these extra 440-ish nodes have not disappeared over the
last three days.
I am running Netview v5.0A on Windows NT 4 (service pack 3), Intel
platform, no additional applications are running on the machine. Does
anyone have any ideas what may be going wrong (ie what I am forgetting
here) or what I can do to fix this problem.
