A word of caution... NetView may fail to install on Solaris 2.6 because tcp port 8888 is in use. Also, ovtopmd won't start even if it installs correctly, as /usr/OV/conf might not been populated because the customization scripts are aborted should any of the NetView ports be in use. The tcp port 8888 is the default port used by the Solaris 2.6 answerbook web server (used for system documentation). The web server daemons are called dwhttpd and the configuration for them is in /usr/lib/ab2/dweb/data/config/dwhttpd.cfg. A workaround for this is to change the answerbook port number to 8989 (or other number) and it all works fine. Hope this helps, Cristina Zabeu PS - Thanks to Rob Macgregor and Jason Kravitz for pointing this out! |
