If the new hostnames are in your DNS and/or local hosts file, simply demand poll those routers and Netview will recognize the new IP Hostname - at least in the IP internet (if these routers are located within Collections, they may not update there without being recreated). -----Original Message----- From: Discussion of IBM NetView and POLYCENTER Manager on NetView [mailto:NV-L@UCSBVM.UCSB.EDU]On Behalf Of Chris P. Sent: Thursday, October 15, 1998 4:36 PM To: NV-L@UCSBVM.UCSB.EDU Subject: object hostname change We have just changed the hostname for multiple routers in our network and I need Netview to recognize these routers by their new hostname. How do I do this without rediscovering the routers again? thanks for any help. chris |
