Hi,
of course you can do the same things ( i hope so). But we choose also
the direct connection to our
ATM-Hubs because it's faster and we have the need to manage our ATM
Network directly - because
it's the backbone between our DP-Centers. If the TokenRing in which
the Netview System is installed
goes down, we won't have any view on our ATM network. So thats why we
installed an Ethernet, ATM,
FDDI and TokenRing adapter in our Netview system - we can manage
different LAN's from one point of
view.

Hi Herb,
You sent out a E-mail earlier. I have coped that back into this message. If
I
am to get this right, the Netview ( TR) and ATM does the same things as
Netview connected directly through ATM, and why is the ATM better, can you
not
do the same things through the Netview ( TR) as you can do through the
Netview
( ATM) ????
Hi,
if you have some routing function between your Netview (TR) and ATM
that would be enough.
But the better way is to have a direct connection via ATM (over
Classical IP) to your 8260 or
8265.
We are running an ATM environment with some CIP'S and several TR /
Ether. ELANS and have
one physicall ATM connection in the ATM network and have also defined
these Elans on the
ATM interfaces.
Cheers,
