By correlator, I assume you mean nvcorrd.

Assuming that there are enough cycles on the box, the only thing that will
slow him down is an excessive number of traps or a name resolution problem.

I don't know what you mean when you say "it stopped working".  If you need
to trace, nvcorrd, use the nvcdebug command.

Hi,

  My correlator was been working fine for the first few months of
implementation.  No changes has been done to my ruleset or my server,
with the exception of adding more data collection which has resulted in
my server getting slower.  And my correlator has stopped working
although the daemon is running fine.  Could the slow down of my server
cause my correlator to go down as well?
