I believe for the type of trap you are talking
about, the "node" and the "agent" are the same
thing. So try "$A" along with "$1".

I am receiving traps from a product called OMTOOL. The traps that are sent
contain 1 argument which reports the description of the trap. How do I pass
the node name using the echo command? When I echo anything more than $1 (The
trap description) it reports a format error.
