Larry, are you trying to add new fields to the Object Info for nodes? If you are on Netview 5.1 there are some really nice new commands for manipulating this data. Check out nvdbimport and nvdbformat man pages. You can add fields and set their values from a script very nicely. To obtain the values, you would have to run a script that issues snmpget commands and writes them to a file. Then use nvdbimport to set them in the netview database. Then you can create collections based on their values. Cordially, Leslie A. Clark IBM Global Services - Systems Mgmt & Networking Hi! can I define new snmp-strings in attribute-lis, to build collections on? thanks! /Larry |
