This is not as simple as it might appear.

You have edit the Nvevents app-defaults file, either the one in
/usr/OV/app-defaults or a copy in the home directory of the user which
stats the GUI. You have to edit the nvevents.LoadEnvOn.Init value to
"True". Then when you start the GUI and the window pops up, first move it
to where you want it, then pull down the Options button and select "Save
Environment", and then iconize the window. Then close the NetView GUI
down. In the home directory of the user who started the GUI an
Nvenvironment directory will be created. In that directory will be a file
called "Workspaces" which will record the position and status of the events
window. When you start up again, this file will be read and restore the
window to it's iconized state.

Good luck

Netview 5.1 on AIX: Does someone out there know a setting (somewhere in
app-defaults, I presume) to have the Nvevents window started minimized? I
found the settings for the Navigation window and the tool bar, but not
Events. Every time the GUI is restarted, the events window pops up on top
of the map, and this is an operations center where the
system/keyboard/mouse
are far removed from the console.
