To continue my question to the list with more data
I am trying to collect MIB data with NetView/NT as an alternative to the ETE
which does not seem to advance at all.
The help is pretty specific but when I try to collect , for example the
information for the hub backplanes I run into all kinds of
problems.
The help states you can specify ranges of instances by using [] with the
range operator '-' or by using the or operator '}'
so that if I am gathering information for broadcast for example and the
line in snmpcol.conf (easier for me to pass to you then the GUI) is
MIB .1.3.6.1.4.1.45.1.6.6.2.1.1.2 802001 s5EnBStatGoodOctets units/sec
COUNTER R lcscomm003
C smartset:HubsByName 0xffffffff 3600 > 200.000000 <= 75.000000 % s 58720263
This is supposed to be backplane 1 only
If I want to gather all 12 but neither [802001-802012] nor 8020[01-12] nor
even 802001|802002|802003 ...
will work.
anything with the range operator or the | (or) just seem to walk the whole
table with hundreds of results.
the collection for just 802001 simply says 'collecting' but will store no
data , the lines in snmpcol.conf.status all look like
.1.3.6.1.4.1.45.1.6.6.2.1.1.2 802002 5
.1.3.6.1.4.1.45.1.6.6.2.1.1.6 802002 5
.1.3.6.1.4.1.45.1.6.6.2.1.1.3 802002 5
.1.3.6.1.4.1.45.1.6.6.2.1.1.8 802012 5
and no data is stored.
In any case all kinds of files are created in \usr\ov\databases\snmpcollect
that do not store data (as this is in the database)
but just hang there.
Can you shed any light on this for me ?
Thanks in advance
