Carlos, I asked the question in hopes that someone else would spot the
problem. I hope
you have called support by now, or Nortel. If this were Netview for AIX, I
would guess that
the device does not have ipforwarding enabled, however you do that on such
a device.

I had saved the thread and have attached it below. Nothing looks obviously
wrong to me.

Cordially,

        Hi everybody,

Some weeks ago I posted a problem regarding Netview not being able
to find
a Nortel FRAD correctly. Netview created one device for each interface.

Leslie A. Clark asked me for the interface table of the device. I
posted
it but due to problems on my e-mail system I lost the thread.

Any way, I found the following:

interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifType.1 : INTEGER: ethernet-csmacd
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifType.2 : INTEGER: 0

Is the ifType.2=0 the cause of the problem?

        Thank you for your attention.

        Best regards,

        Hi Leslie,

Following is the output of the snmpwalk interfaces:

interfaces.ifNumber.0 : INTEGER: 2
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex.1 : INTEGER: 1
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex.2 : INTEGER: 2
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifDescr.1 : DISPLAY STRING- (ascii): LAN
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifDescr.2 : DISPLAY STRING- (ascii): WAN
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifType.1 : INTEGER: ethernet-csmacd
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifType.2 : INTEGER: 0
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifMtu.1 : INTEGER: 1500
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifMtu.2 : INTEGER: 1500
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifSpeed.1 : Gauge: 10000000
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifSpeed.2 : Gauge: 0
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifPhysAddress.1 : OCTET STRING- (hex): length
= 6
     0: 00 40 c5 11 46 db -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
.@..F...........

interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifPhysAddress.2 : OCTET STRING- (hex): length
= 6
     0: 00 40 c5 11 46 db -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
.@..F...........

interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifAdminStatus.1 : INTEGER: up
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifAdminStatus.2 : INTEGER: up
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOperStatus.1 : INTEGER: up
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOperStatus.2 : INTEGER: up
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifLastChange.1 : Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifLastChange.2 : Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00

After a few days, Netview created one object for each interface
with the
router symbol. Attached is the output of the ovobjprint for both objects.

        Thank you for your attention.

        Best regards,

        Carlos Lima Dias
