I've been searching for the procedure ek@th.ibm.com talks about below for
some time without success. I also remember it as part of earlier releases
of NetFinity as he suggests, but I'm starting to think that this support
has been dropped from the latest releases. In the latest release, 5.20.2,
of NetFinity there are SNMP MIBS that can be added to NetView that allow
you access to some information from the NetFinity client on OS/2 or WinNT
systems. See the README.1ST on the NetFinity CD for details. Here's a
quote:

The Netfinity SNMP Subagent provides SNMP management applications
with information from the Netfinity Remote System Manager, System
Monitor, and System Information Tool. NETFINSV.MIB, NETFINMS.MIB,
and
SYSTEM.MIB, the MIB files required by SNMP management applications,
can be found in the SNMP_MIB directory on the Netfinity CD-ROM.

I'm using these and I'm happy with them.

You may integrate NetFinity into NetView as an openmon application.
I used to implement it nearly 2 yrs. ago with NetFinity v.4.x. As my
memory
goes, netfinity becomes another submap under Root and you can view the
group
topology defined in NetFinity.
The procedure to follow is documented in NetFinity help, you have to
define the
port on NetView to receive topology update. Anyway, I never try it on
NetView 5.x
and NetFinity 5.x. It may depend on your luck which I hope you have.

Good luck,
