Sorry, but...
Eggs deleted, everything discovered anew, still "or something".
The symbols themselves are just fine, no problem there.
My beautifully customized LABELTEXT "lost as usual".
And it really is just Network- and Segment-Labeltexts i'm worrying about...
Running oslevel 4.2.1 / NetView V5R1 / Framework 3.6.
Regards, Ralph.

I htink you will see this mostly on things that are added to a collections
simultaneously
with discovery. If you delete (Edit..Delete.. From this/any) the egg for
the collection, it
immediately reappears and the symbols that were finally used by ipmap will
be used by
collections as well. Over time, of course, new devices appear, so once in a
while you will
need to do this again. There was a problem for a while where it depended on
how they
were discovered - by address or name. But I think you got really wrong
things, like cards
instead of routers, for devices where the IP Hostname field and the
Selection Name field
were different, and the workaround for that was to delete and rediscover
the object by
hostname. Or something. But I have not seen that problem at current
maintenance levels.

Subject: Re: symbol customization lost in collections
Hello, Ralph;
I have seen this happen as well. As I understand it, ipmap does not talk to
collmap in this way (at
least by default), i.e. it does not pass a symbol label to collmap but the
symbol label in a
collection is based somehow upon the object's selection name. When I wanted
to do the same as you
did, I had to modify symbols in the collection itself....huh 8-((
Anyone can shed light on this?
Best regards,
Vladimir.
