Hello All. This is a general I have in the process of trying to understand Netview better... I understand that Netview uses the netmon daemon to 'poll' the devices in the seedfile. But, can/do devices generate traps on their own within polling periods if a MIB value changes. Where/when exactly do the traps occur or does netmon do everything associated with trap generation. Also, can subagents like SIA generate a trap and send it to Netview without netmon do a poll, i.e. in between polls. Finally, do all the traps sent to Netview go to the trapd.log file or just the ones that are sent to the Events Display? Any info appreciated. Gord.
