We had this problem with the web interface especially when accessing the
map
topology. Make sure a process called webquery is running.

Subject: web interface
Hi forum,
I enabled the web interface by /usr/OV/bin/nvwebstart
Now I have a map open in netview with read/ write. When I go to the netview
machine with a web browser, I get the error
" could not open socket, check Netview user interface.
Is there any thinng I can do fast to resolve this.
