Hello, I need to obtain the status of a non-SNMP device (up/down only). Without using a proxy agent, I was thinking that cron could kick off a script every five minutes to determine the status and generate an alert if the device is down. Does anyone have an example of the script file I would need to be able to do this? Is there a better way than what I'm considering? Thanks for your help!
