The one in particular that seems to change
ownership is snmpget. I use this command in another script I run outside of
Netview. So most of them should be owned by bin? What ones should be owned by
root?
Cheers
Matt
Changing? By default,
the vast majority of the modules in /usr/OV/bin are shipped
as belonging to bin, and always have been (pardon the pun).
A few seem to be shipped as root, though they belong to processes I
don't work on, so I cannot tell you why. But unless you
install an efix, I wouldn't expect them to ever change, and certainly not
automatically, unless the root user changes them (not a good idea from
where I sit). Of course, if you install an efix, and then upgrade,
the efix would get overlaid with a new module belonging to bin. Is
this what you are seeing?

root to bin
Hi all,
I remember this being
discussed some time ago. Every so often, I notice that the files in my
/usr/OV/bin directory have had their ownership changed from root to bin.
What is causing this?
Thanks
