About a month ago we upgraded our NetView from vrsn4.x to vrsn 5.1. Ever
since the upgrade, we have been getting the following error: -

ovw: Cannot connect to database
All the daemons are running but we are unable to connect tot the dB. The
way we resolve the issue currently is that we close the R/W map and restart
it. Once the R/W map comes up, everyone else is able to connect to the dB.
Initially this thing was happening almost every two days. We opened a case
with IBM and discovered that we forgot to make a few changes as discussed in
Section 3.3.2 (System Configuration) of the NetView 5.1 Release Notes. We
made those changes and rebooted the system. The dB stayed up for nearly two
weeks, but now seems to be dying with the aforementioned message nearly
every day. I have been sending log files to IBM but have not had a
conclusive problem resolution at hand. Has anybody experienced a similar
problem? If so, what was the problem and hence the resolution? If not,
does anyone have any recommendations or ideas as to what might be the
problem?
