Trap forwarding to another NetView?
NetView for NT uses an entirely different mechanism for trap forwarding than
does NetView for UNIX.
In UNIX this is handled by trapd itself, and using TCP is supported. In NT,
this is accomplished by the trapfwd daemons, and TCP is not an option, though
you can specify an alternate port. Read the comments in the
\usr\ov\conf\trapfwd.conf file for more details.
If you think this should be an option, then I suggest you send a note to
netview@tivoli.com explaining why you require this enhancement, or call Support,
and have Level 2 open an enhancement request for you. By doing so you are
asking the development groupt to consider this a feature for a future release.
Note that MLM for NT does send his traps to NetView NT using TCP just as MLM for
UNIX does.

Subject: Traps over TCP
Hello,
In NetView AIX, on can use TCP, as well as UDP, to send traps. Can
NetView NT also send traps using TCP, and if so where is it configured?
Thanks,
