Theo, the first place to check for the current release of Netview would
be the Tivoli web site, www.tivoli.com. There are links there for maintenance
(patches) for most of the Tivoli products, but in the case of Netview, for which
so far there has been only one 'patch', the update is much too large to
distribute
via the network and so it was issued by CD only, and shipped automatically to
all
customers of record. Probably something similar will happen with the next
maintenace
release (patch).

In the meantime, small fixes to individual problems are released as e-fixes when
you request them by reporting a problem to support. If it is a known problem
with a
reasonably well-tested fix available, they will send it to you, always with the
caveat
that it has not been through the final testing that it will get before it is
released as part
of the next maintenance level.

As for the size limits, Netview for Unix is really only limited by the size of
the hardware
you are willing to put under it. Usually customers make the decision to split it
across
mulitple machines for reasons other than size, such as geography or slow network
links or division of responsiblity for parts of a global network. When they
decide
to make Netview heirarchical they often do it with the Mid-Level Manager, which
ships with Netview so there is no addtional charge. If you tell us the number
of nodes
you are intending to manage, routers, hubs/bridges/swithches, workstations,
servers,
printers, etc, then people here with similar sized networks will probably tell
you
what hardware they are running and how well it is performing.

Hope this helps.

Cordially,
