We just installed NetView 5.1.1 on a new AIX 4.3.2 server, and are having problems running the "netcheck" command. This is also the same thing as running "IP/TCP/SNMP Connectivity" from the Test menu on the NetView map. The error message that we receive is: ERROR: IP:Could not initialize ICMP socket: The file access permissions do not allow the specified action. I have already deleted all of the files in the /usr/OV/sockets directory, but that did not help. Running the command as the root user results in the same error message. Does anyone know what's causing this error and how to correct it? |
