To both NetView questions, the answer is "Yes"

With regard to NetView Xclients, the situation is the same as with a telnet
using a read-only  or read-write map.
If you have a read-only ,map the only thing that will get propagated are status
changes. Changes to the map which involve adding a new nodes or other objects,
or deleting them, or adding a node to a collection or removing it, these are not
status updates but re-draws of the map, and those require a refresh.

The web client doesn't need a refresh because it is maintained by publishing the
GUI from the open read-write map. You don't have an ovw /ipmap running in your
browser.

Hello All.

Once you have CiscoWorks Blue installed (aix 4.2.1, Netview 5.1.1) can you
launch Cisco device GUIs from the Netview Web Interface or do you have to
use CiscoWorks Blue's own web interface (and Web Server, if it has its
own??)??

Also, on the Netview Web Interface:

When an icon goes red on the Netview Server, does it automatically get
reflected on the Web Interface or will you have to reload the page to see
updates.

On the Netview Client:

When an icon goes red on the Netview Server, does it automatically get
reflected on the Client GUI or must be periodically do a "Refresh" from the
Client??

Any information appreciated.

Gord.
