Shirl, there is no easy way to change the name of the TMR server and
everything else that goes along with that. If you have any alternative, you
should take it. That said, I posted detailed instructions for this process
just last week. You can retrieve it from the listserver by sending a note
to
LISTSERV@UCSBVM.UCSB.EDU containing the line
SEARCH IN NV-L FROM TODAY-7 WHERE SUBJECT CONTAINS Changing AND SENDER

I get the daily digest. Can you help me post the following?

Can someone tell me the easiest way to change the name
of my
TMR Server? I have Netview for AIX and want to clone
the
system for a different site. I don't know how to change
it
using
the TME 10 desktop, so have tried following the steps
listed
in
"Changing the TMR Server Name" in chapter 13 of the
Planning
and Installation guide. I get an error running
MN='wlookup
-r
ManageNode old-name' and then idlcall $MN _set_label
'"new-name"'. The error I get is (SYSTEM EXCEPTION
StExcep::INITIALIZE (34 NO))
At the point where I get the error, I have deinstalled
Netview,
want to rename the server and then re-install Netview.
But
the
only client available to re-install on is the old-name.
If I can't solve this I will attempt to re-install
framework
after
changing hostname.

Shirl Rementer
