Phil,

I agree with Leslie. Framework and Netview should be installed only after
reading the release notes. You also must install Framework 3.6 because
3.6.1 is a patch. Netview also has a specific prerequisites for installing
on AIX. Also you need to obtain a copy of the Installation and
Configuration guide for Netview. This has a Installation checklist in
Chapter 1 that, as well as platform specific information. You can obtain
these documents via html or pdf at the Tivoli web site.

Phil, the Tivoli Framework does not lend itself to seat-of-the-pants
installation. You really do need to get the release note. I will say that
I was under the impression that you could not install 3.6.1 directly. You
have to install 3.6 and then appy 3.6.1 as an upgrade. I may be wrong
about that. But I would not assume your install went correctly. That
script is THE way to set up the environment.

installing on AIX 4.2.1
I've tried to source the environment with the .
/etc/Tivoli/setup_env.sh script, however the script appears to be missing
some rather important variables (like all of them). Does anyone have a more
realistic script? Or should I sign up @ Tivoli and RTFM?

        Best Wishes
