Actually, there is a way to accomplish this OUTSIDE the NetView web interface,
but using the NetView web server. It involves a bit of scripting and a
conversion utility. Here are the basics:
1. Create the graphs
Use the xnmgraph utility to create the graphs in "print-only" mode. This will
save the graph to disc in *.xwd format.
2. Covert the graph images to *.gif format
There is a neat conversion utility from "Handmade Software" called "Image
Alchemy" which will convert the *.xwd file to a *.gif format.
http://www.handmadesw.com/
3. Place the *.gif images in /usr/OV/web/httpd/htdocs/
You can then place the *.gif graph file in /usr/OV/web/httpd/htdocs/ directory
on the NetView server, where they can be accessed by a web browser.
4. Create the "html" page to reference the image file(s).
Drop me a note directly if you'd like more details.

And the answer to Q2 is No. No mechamism is provided for reflecting
menu functions from the map on the web client.

Andy,
I can only answer Q1:
This is not possible with the application builder. However you can manually
edit the ARF's generated by the applicatication builder, they are in
/usr/OV/registration/C/ovmib. You have to restart the NV GUI after manually
editing a ARF.
See the man page of xnmgraph for details on graphing one (or some)
instance(s) of a MIB variable.

Hi,
I m new on this list and have two questions. I have a Netview 5.1.1 on AIX
4.3.2
running.
1. Q
I want to write graph-tools with the MIB Application Builder. Is there a
possibility to only graph a MIB instance of an array of values (for ex. the
ifInOctets Variable)? I can specify those thing in the MIB _Browser_ , it
seems
to add just an < .instance > when I press the graph button. But this way
doesn t
work in the application builder.
I get the following error message:
"10:07:47 next object after .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.1 on <ip-adress> is not
supported on this MIB"
2.Q
Is there any way to provide this graphs through the web interface of
netview?
Thanks
