First answer, "I don't see how unless you also have three maps". You can set a
default submap for each map, and each user can start a different map. But I
don't know how to combine those on one map.
Second answer, "Sure, this is easy". Will you use rulesets or filters to
control what each user sees?
There are several ways to get this done.
(1) set default filters for each user. Create the filters and then in each
user's $HOME directory create a .<userid>.events file which gives the full path
to the filter file and the name of the filter in that file, one filter per each
line. This is described in the Admin Guide.
(2) set different default ruleset for each user. Copy
/usr/OV/app-defaults/Nvevents to each user's $HOME directory and change the name
of the defaults ruleset in there: nvevents.correlationrule : <rule_name>
(3) combine rulesets and filters in multiple workspaces. Have each user run
events and on the first window, pull down Options and click "Save Environment".
Then have him open his other workspaces and apply whatever filters he wants.
Then exit nvevents from the first workspace with File --> Exit. This should
create an NvEnvironment subdirectory containing a file called "Workspaces". Now
copy /usr/OV/app-defaults/Nvevents to each user's $HOME directory and change:
LoadEnvOnInit : True . Then when he re-starts events, the Workspaces file
will be read and it will restore his workspaces from before.

Hello,
A customer who has three different users for NetView wants per user a
different start-up submap.
Does someone know if this can be realized?
A second question:
The same customer wants per user a different event display: show only those
events which are of interest for that particular
user.
Does someone know if this can be realized?
