Hi Dave,
The official de-install for a working NetView 5.x installation is simply to
right-click on the NetViewServer icon in the Tivoli desktop and select
Maintain->Remove TME 10 NetView.
To manually de-install, which we usually do only to clean up after a partial,
failed installation is either to run the /MUSTSEE/cleanup script on the NetView
5.1.1+ CD or do the following steps:
Depending on why and how soon the install failed, some of these steps may not be
possible or the files may not exist. This is normal.
1. Deinstall NetView again from the command line:
$/usr/lpp/nv6000/remove_product/nv6000.base.obj.deinstal
$/usr/lpp/nv6000/remove_product/nv6000.features.obj.deinstal
(make sure to execute in listed order.)
2. Remove the installation flag files in the Tivoli
installed directories with the following command:
$ rm -f $BINDIR/.installed/NVS*
$ rm -f $DBDIR/.installed/NVS*
3. Remove the msg_file flag file with the following commands:
$ cd $BINDIR/../../msg_cat/
$ rm -f NVS*
4. FOR NON-AIX SYSTEMS ONLY:
$ rm /usr/lib/objrepos
$ rm /etc/objrepos
5. Remove the netview command in /usr/bin
$ rm -f /usr/bin/netview
6. Finally, remove /usr/OV
$ rm -rf /usr/OV
7. Reinstall.

Subject: [NV-L] Does anyone have the de-installation instructions for NetView
5.1 or 5.1.1??
I am going to a disaster recovery site and am going to build netview and
break it down a number of times while I'm there. Does anyone have the
"official de-install instructions" to de-install the product??
