Matt -
If you have the MIBs, you can try running mib2trap on them. mib2trap creates an
addtrap script if the MIBs contain TRAP-TYPE statements to work with. If not,
you can still add the trap defs manually with xnmtrap. Everything you need to
define the trap is spelled out in what you see in trapd.log. The enterprise
id is there, the generic and specific trap numbers, and the number of arguments
and thier values. But you will have to read the product documentation to
determine what the various integer values mean to make the log message
meaningful. Configuring a trap manually is covered in Chapter 5 of the
Administrator's Guide.

Unfortunately, The script that contains the command strings to do the
addtrap for the 8274 is part of IBM RouteVision or Xylan X-Vision, the
products that provide management for the 827x family of boxes. The last
sale date from IBM (as announced previously) is March 30,2000
(tomorrow), after which it will be available only as X-Vision from
Alcatel/Xylan. Since it is part of an OEM product and s far as I know,
the addtraps are not posted on the internet, you're supposed to buy the
product.

Sorry,
