This is traditionally done with an application called "SNA Manager/6000" which
integrates with NetView for AIX. Your IBM representative can provide details.

Hi Alexis,
If it's an emergency, do you have a sniffer, fluke or something like this to
check the token ring without netview?
If you "only" have Netview then you need a device in your token ring which can
measure the load (i.e. Bit/s or something like this) and which can be polled
using snmp. This may be a router, switch or a probe. I don't know what ibm8230
will report using snmp. But basic Netview is not able to see anything of your
SNA-traffic in the token ring without the help of some other devices.
Greetings

Hi all,
I have to manage an SNA network with netview (V5 on AIX 4.2.1) but i have no
idea how to do it.
I've been told that there is an SNMP agent on AIX runing SNA, but where can i
find its MIB?
Is there anything special to do with netview to make it understant SNA
protocol???
What i want to do is simple, i want to see the bandwidth SNA is using in a token
ring network that is running short.
This is an emergency,
Best Regards.
