Hello to all,

we are using Netview NT V6.0. We are seeking a possibility to model a
software application
within a IP node and to monitor the status of that application (which is
SNMP enabled and sends traps).
We created an Application/Software object at the same level as the nodes
interface card.
How can we set the status of that software-object? We can do this using the
OVwSetStatusOnObject API, but obviously this API can be used only within a
GUI-application.
We would like to have a daemon application or some trap-triggered
executable.
Is there any other way using an API or some Netview supplied tool?
Can the general topology manager be of any help here? (We did not succeed
to initialize
this API, novtInit always failed.)

Thanks
