Since 'acknowledge' is only properly used on down interfaces, I
make it a practice to create a Collection/Smartset of interfaces with
IP Status of Critical. When you look there, you will see what you are
looking for. Some dark green, some red, but all down. To find which
node they belong to, I use the View...Protocols function. I also make
a Collection/Smartset of nodes with status of marginal or critical. This
will contain the parents of those down interfaces. If those nodes are
green in the Collection/Smartset, you have another clue that one or
more of their interfaces have been acknowledged.

To avoid another discussion of the limits of r/o maps, let me say
here that Collections/Smartsets like these, with fluid membership,
are not very useful on r/o maps, since those maps can accurately
reflect changes in status, but cannot reflect changes in submap contents
without a File...Refresh. But they are very useful on a r/w map.

Subject: [NV-L] Collection Question

Hi Netview Users,
Question for you, does anyone know how to make a collection for all
acknowledged nodes. There is a way to filter on this, but I want to have a
collection that tells me how many nodes are being acknowledged at any one
time. I was looking through the attribute list and I don't see "Symbol
Status" as one of the attributes. There is an IP Status, but that doesn't
have acknowledge as one of it's values. Is the solution here to create a
field called IsAcknowledges, or does anyone know another field that I can
use to create a collection. Thanks for any help you may be able to
provide.
