Bernard,
We routinely use the "IN_SUBNET" rule in our mlmDomain SmartSets. I am also
fairly certain that there are no restrictions on how you define the rules in
the mlmDomain SmartSets. We have one MLM server which status polls all of
our miscellaneous remote offices. Its SmartSet has very complex rules which
contain a list of hostnames, other SmartSets, and subnets. The only thing
to be careful of is trying to get too fancy with the AND/OR definitions.
Keep it as simple as possible.

Subject: [NV-L] Configuring MLM's for distributed status polling
Hello,
I've configured some MLM to do status polling on nodes which are not in the
same subnet, using Collections/Smartsets. The netmon man page states that
the rule should contain entries like:
IP Hostname = some_name.
Is it also possible to use a rule like: IN_SUBNET 172.17.0.0 ?
This works in my test setup.
My real question is: is it possible to use any valid Collection/Smartset
rule to define a mlmDomain_
Collection/Smartset ?
Thanks in advance,
Bernard
