I think unexpected pings are logged when netmon sees a ping response, but
didn't initiate it itself. It is probably from an external program. Or maybe
somebody is just doing a ping from the gui or on the command line, possibly
even from another machine to netview. Test it for yourself. Watch the
trace file when you ping an address from the command line. It is normal. I
wouldn't worry about it.
