Hello Jim,
I have this error sporadically (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't,). But
you can solve it by manually editing the file ovsuf file (/usr/OV/conf/ovsuf).
look for the line beginning with:
0:netmon...
this line has to look like the contents of the netmon.lrf file. What this
failing registration tries to do is nothing else (updating the entry). (to be
correct: it comments out the existing line by writing a "1" instead of a "0" and
adding a new line at the end of the file, but the result is the same)
For security reasons save a copy of the ovsuf file (once I had an escape
character in this file resulting in some strange errors)
but: if you just edit your seedfile, you can ignore this error, only if you
change the name or location of the seedfile, or start using a seedfile, there
will be changes in netmon.lrf
greetings

Help!!!
I have been trying to load a new netmon.seed file thru the GUI. I continue
to receive the message below. Sometimes the loading of new obj's happens,
sometimes it doesn't.
I am also having other unexplained errors occur that I wonder if they are
related. Can anyone help me understand what is happening here that will be
causing this error?
Execution 'Set options for netmon daemon'
Working...
Updated /usr/OV/lrf/netmon.lrf
ERROR: Unable to connect to Tivoli Netview NMS (have you done
ovstart) (1-16)
Unable to register the /usr/OV/lrf/netmon.lrf
Operation has completed
Thanks
