Gary,
By correlation, I meant, how the events are analyzed and presented as the root
cause. For TFNC (or the new IPFM), SMARTS uses a code book approach based on
probabilities defined in a matrix; whereas, in other correlation engines, like
Riversoft or Tavve or the new one on Netview, it is based on up stream or down
stream mechanism on the way I understand it. The correlation engines from these
vendors are proprietary.

As it always seems to be these days....
Please define what you mean by "correlation" engine.
Thanks,

Netview 6.01 comes with its own correlation engine, which is significantly
different than TFNC.

Has any one used Tivoli Manager For Network Connection (TFNC) to do event
correlation?
Can you share your experiences/comments here?
