Hi Leonid,

as far as I know standalone Netview is a tool designed to manage IP - networks,
so you can't manage non-ip-devices without third-party software. Maybe the
enhancements (interface status polling with snmp) in V6.x allows to check the
status of non-ip - interfaces, but since I don't have this version I can't tell
you. Discovery is based on discovering ip-addresses (reading the ARP-table of
routers, by example), and since your atm-interfaces don't have them they are
not discovered.

Hello all,

My NetView6.0 System has a problem to discover non-ip-atm-interfaces from
Cisco-Devices.
There are no problem with ip-interfaces, but NetView can't find
non-ip-atm-interfaces from the same devices.

Operating System: SPARC Solaris 7.
Cisco Devices: Catalyst 2942, LS1010, Catalyst 5000, Catalyst 5009.

The Cisco Devices have Connections to each other. The cdp Cache is aktiv.

What must I configure in NetView to make non-ip-discovery possible ?
Cann anybody help me ?

Gruesse - Best regards
