MLM does not produce any "Node Down" traps. They are only produced by
netmon when "all" of the interfaces are down. As Leslie posted, the MLM
traps do not show up in the Event Log window by default, but you can see
them in the trapd.log file if you don't want to change the trap definition.

Subject: [NV-L] mlm status polling
Hello,
I have an MLM on solaris 2.6 reporting back to a netview 5.1.2 server also
on solaris 2.6.
The community names are all configured correctly and if I generate a trap
using the snmptrap command, send it to the mlm, it forwards it to the
server.
To test status polling I have simply turnede off a pc and unmanaged it, when
I manage it I get a node down trap.
The MLM trapd.log has an entry in it for enterprise .1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.12 and
speciffic 2 (session up trap) for the ip address Im using for this testing.
When the node down trap is recieved it is from netmon. There is no mention
of it coming from the mlm.
Also the mlm trap doesnt appear as a node down trap. Its a session up trap
generated by the mlm. There is no session down trap.
I have configured an MLM seedfile and told netmon to use it, recycled
daemons etc.can I use wildcards for this as in normal seedfiles? I have also
set the mlm status monitor table , enabled it and recylced daemon.(Can I use
wildcards for network addresses using * here as in seedfiles?
What I want is for the MLM to forward node down traps to the server.
thankyou Arthur
