Yes, this means that you did not source the Tivoli environment before doing an
ovstart. The 255 is a reflection of the -1 exit code that ovtopmd receive
trying to load the Tivoli libraries. ovstop nvsecd, then run " .
/etc/Tivoli/setup_env.sh " and then do your ovstart.
By the way, 5.1.1 is out of support.

Hello all,
I'm using Netview 5.1.1 on AIX 4.2.1, Optivity 8.1.1
the ovtopmd daemon refuses to start (ovstatus shows an exit status 255).
This morning I was still able to stop/start all daemons.
We did a shutdown/reboot of the box, and since then ovtompd is in troubles
and, of course, all daemons depending on it.
Anyone an idea of what exit status 255 can mean or what could be the problem
?
