Stale objects

Does anybody know what "Stale objects" are?
In the netmon.trace there is references to
"Stale objects", and unfortunately leads to
objects being deleted because they are "Stale"
which I don't want deleted (like routers whose
addresses are in the seedfile.

Any light that can be shed will be appreciated!
