No, that reference to auto-adjust has to do with new node discovery
polling,
I'm fairly sure. That 'fixup' activity is what netmon does at startup, or
when you
change snmp settings. It is checking each node and the settings of the
various
parameters in snmp configuration. One of those is where you have set new
node discovery polling either to a fixed interval (default 15 minutes), or
to
auto-adjust. When set to autoadjust, netmon schedules new node discovery
polls (to find friends of that node) to a gradually increasing value. This
behavior
has not changed, as far as I know, since the beginning.

Cordially,

Subject:  [NV-L] Adaptive Polling ?

Hello Leslie,

A couple of weeks ago you wrote of an "undocumented" and "mysterious
behavior" of the adaptive polling on NV 5 and 6.0. This was disabled in NV
6.0.1.

I just enabled netmon tracing to determine why NV was constantly adding and
deleting a 2924 interface from the map. Here is an excerpt from the netmon
trace file at the time of the add/delete. Notice the "Auto Adjust? = YES".
Does that mean adapter polling is still enabled?

13:13:49 : .//nl_fixup.c[420] : fixupNmNodeSnmpConfEx() for
2924-b3f5e-2.wan.erac.com
13:13:49 : .//nl_fixup.c[574] : ... interval = 300, timeout = 2, retries =
3
... community = 'xxxx', setcommunity = 'xxxx',proxyName = '<none>'
... proxyAddr = 0.0.0.0, checked proxy address = FALSE
... Node Down = 604800, Discovery Poll? = YES, Auto Adjust? = YES, Fixed
Interval = 900,
Daily Config = 86400, Route Entries = 800

Thanks.
