| I have experienced the same problem before where the filesystem filled up,
and I could not start the GUI. I did call support, and received the
diagnosis (and I quote) "You're pretty well hosed." (I always knew that was
a technical term!).
Anyway, restoring from a good backup, or reinitializing the databases are
the only two options that support provided me with.

Corruption of the databases in quite possible as a result of a full
filesystem and what you are seeing may be a sign of that. I can't tell you
if you can recover from this error - maybe somebody else can, else try
talking with support. But the easiest resolution would be to fix the file
system space issue and restore from a known good backup of the databases.
Run reset_ci and the usual utilities to resolve database inconsistencies
and then try restarting NetView and bringing up the GUI.

Subject: [NV-L] HELP! Error retreiving mapdb field info???
I am running NetView 6.0.1 AIX 4.3.2. Last night the file system /usr/OV
ran out
of disk space. I restarted NetView and ran the Resolve Database
Inconsistancies
from Serversetup and now when I launch the GUI, I get the following
message.
"Error retreiving mapdb field info: Null Field Value" After I click the OK
button, the GUI shuts down. HELP!
