You are correct that you cannot configure snmpCollect through the GUI to
collect on a V2 MIB, loaded or not. However, you can manually edit the
snmpCol.conf file and collect that way. People have been doing this for
years.

Tivoli Support are correct in that snmpCollect will NOT collect on snmpV2
MIBs loaded in NetView's snmpV2 MIB tree. snmpCollect only looks at the
snmpV1 MIB tree (no exceptions).
Your only solution would be to find a V1 equivalent of your V2 MIB and load
it into the snmpV1 MIB tree, OR you can convert your V2 MIB to a V1 MIB and
then load it into the snmpV1 MIB tree. The snmpV1 MIB Loader will let you
know in a round-about way if you have succeeded or not in the conversion.
It checks the syntax as it compiles the MIB and will produce an error
message with the line number of the approx point of failure.

Subject: [NV-L] SNMPv2 Data Collection for NT Netview
Is it possible to collect SNMPv2 data with Netview NT? If so - how do you
accomplish it? I was told by one Tivoli support that it was not possible to
collect using SNMPv2 MIBs. Today, another Tivoli support person stated that
you could and referred me to this mailing list.
