Hi Frank

Yes, changing the name of a TEC server is a relatively major project - or
at least there are several steps that must be followed to make it work.

Chapter 13 of the Framework Planning and Installation Guide details how to
change the name of the Managed Node (TME Client). As well as doing that,
you may have to update the RIM object that is used to connect the TEC
server to its RDBMS. The rulebase location may have to be updated. Any
machines or scripts that directly refer to the name of the Managed Node as
a destination for events may have to be updated. Event Consoles may have to
be updated.

All in all, it may be easier to remove the TEC Server and Consoles and
recreate it - assuming the name change is vital!

You may get some more information from "Ask Tivoli" on the Tivoli Support
Web Site.

Regards,

Danny

Subject: Host Name Change on TEC Server

Is it a major project to change the host name on a T/EC Server?

If so where do I look to make sure I don't miss any thing?
