How many Cisco network devices are you discovering with the ANI server? We
are testing the same server platform with only CW2000 (no NetView) and are
experiencing extremely poor performance with only 400 devices. We have not
yet been able to isolate the cause of the performance problems. Our goal is
to determine what server platform will meet our needs.

I've done so on a Sun Enterprise 250 with 512 Mb of RAM, running
Solaris 2.6. I didn't finish the discovery of the network
in Netview yet, so Netview isn't very busy polling things.
But until now, no problems. Performance is still OK.
