You should be using 6.0.1 and not 6.0. No one should be using 6.0 now that
6.01. is available.

And you picked a pretty sophisticated thing to try to test with.
The background daemon ovactiond does not have the same environment that you
do. He has no display set and he does not have the same path.
For automatic actions, you should always specify the full path to the
executable, and if you want to launch an X-window GUI process you will have
to specify the display somehow. Some commands such as NetView's ovxecho
allow you to specify the display with a -d option. For others you will
have to launch a script which explicitly exports the display before calling
the command:
     #!bin/ksh
     export DISPLAY=<mybox>:0.0
     xclock
That ought to do it.
If not, look in /usr/OV/log/ovactiond.log for clues.

Again me.
I tried to use Automatic Actions in the event configuration but it
doesn'work. I
used simple things as xclock and xnmappmon -cmd .... When I executed these
commands on the comand line it works. I restarted all processes but it has
no
effect. I'm using Netview 6.0 on AIX 4.3.1. Any ideas?

Mit freundlichen Gruessen - Yours sincerely
