What I put in the documentation that I give my customers is that
reset_ci is the chicken soup of Netview. I use it whenever something
happens that even hints at an identity problem with the box, and I use it
when ovdelobj/ovaddobj won't work. And sometimes I use it instead
of knocking on wood. It can't hurt.

Is there some reason you cannot browse it and follow the comments?
What kind of an explanation are you looking for?

Sorry if this question has been answered before but ...

What does the 'reset_ci' script actually do?

It seems to crop up all over the place as a fix for apparently different
problems.

Cheers,

Mike.
